Plain Quakers Colorful Lives

Learn how to confidently tell a colorful story to accompany the black and white evidence for our 19th Century ancestors. Follow a research trail that focuses on setting a sensory stage in addition to the usual monochromatic vital records. Explore using non-genealogical resources as Lori Lee develops the compelling story of 19th century Quaker, Rebecca RATLIFF. Learn about macro- versus micro-research approaches while exploring “hidden” non-government-issued documentation. The audience will leave excited to choose an infamous ancestor and tell their story in rich, and historically documented detail. A Quick Hits Handout of “colorful” websites is provided.

Version 8 is here!

There has been a time change, our meetings are now 5:30-7:30pm!

We study how we can best to preserve and organize our genealogical data using Roots Magic. At each meeting we focus on some section of Roots Magic to gain a better understanding of this program.

All skill levels are welcome!

Current version is 8.1.5.0 Jan 2022  You can find what version you have by clicking on the 3 dot menu in the upper right corner and select "About RootsMagic."

Having trouble doing something in version 8? Just click on the Tasks page at the left of the screen. Put all the details into a new task and then you can share it with the group at our next meeting. Also, this will help you remember what you need to do next!

John Wilson is the host for our meetings and if you are interested in attending the meetings please contact John at wilsonjb@gmail.com
